wp-twitter-tools
Twitter Tools is a WordPress plugin that creates a two-way bridge between your WordPress blog and your Twitter account. It lets you automatically archive your tweets on your website, turn tweets into blog posts, announce new blog posts on Twitter, and browse your tweets organized by account, hashtag, or @mention all from within WordPress.
Here's what it does in practice: when you tweet, Twitter Tools downloads a copy and stores it on your site. You can then edit, delete, or display these tweets using shortcodes or widgets. If you enable it, the plugin also watches for new blog posts and automatically tweets them with a link. You can connect multiple Twitter accounts and control the behavior for each one separately. The plugin also creates organized archives—so visitors can browse all your tweets, or just the ones mentioning specific accounts or hashtags, either publicly on your site or just within the WordPress admin.
The plugin relies on another WordPress plugin called Social to handle the actual Twitter connection, so you don't have to manually set up API keys or deal with authentication complexity yourself. Twitter Tools would appeal to bloggers who want to maintain an archive of their tweets, repurpose tweets as blog content, automatically promote new posts on Twitter, or simply keep their Twitter presence organized and visible on their own domain. For example, a newsletter writer might enable the feature that creates blog posts from tweets, giving them a permanent record on their site; a marketer might use the hashtag and mention archives to track conversations about their brand; or a content creator might use it to automatically cross-post between platforms without manual work.
The plugin is fairly old (last tested on WordPress 3.4.2) and is no longer actively maintained, so it may not work on newer WordPress versions or with the current Twitter API.
