Terms of Service

Use the service reasonably.

What the service is

gitmyhub turns a GitHub profile into a presentable showcase page. Pages are built from public GitHub data (via GitHub's documented API) and render for any valid GitHub username. If a page is yours, you can sign in with GitHub to claim it and curate it: a tagline, an about section, links, featured repos, hidden repos, and an accent color. An optional paid plan, Pro, adds themes, branding removal, custom share-card text, and a custom domain.

Claiming a page

• You can only claim the page that belongs to the GitHub account you sign in with. Claiming asks GitHub for read-only profile identity (the read:user scope) and nothing else.
• You are responsible for the content you add to your page. Don't add anything unlawful, deceptive, or infringing. We may remove owner content or suspend claims that break this rule.
• An unclaimed page shows public GitHub data with no owner content. If you want a page about you taken down, see Removal requests.

Removal requests

Pages present data that is already public on GitHub, with attribution and links back to the source. If you'd rather not have a gitmyhub page at all, email [email protected] from an address we can tie to the GitHub account (or include proof of control) and we will stop serving the page for your username.

Pro plan

Pro is an optional subscription, billed monthly or yearly, that renews automatically until you cancel.

• Billing runs through a merchant of record — either Polar (Polar Software, Inc.) or Gumroad (Gumroad, Inc.), depending on how you subscribed. You buy, manage, and cancel your subscription with that provider, and its terms govern the payment (Polar terms, Gumroad terms). We never receive or store your card details.
• After purchase, your plan is linked to your GitHub account — automatically after checkout, or by activating the license key from your receipt on the Account page.
• Cancellation and refunds are handled by the provider you bought from. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then your page reverts to the free tier (default theme, standard branding, no custom domain).
• We may change plan prices or features with notice on this page. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for.

Custom domains

• Connecting a domain to your page requires that you own or control that domain. You point a CNAME at us; the TLS certificate is issued through Cloudflare.
• If your Pro subscription lapses, the domain keeps working for a 14-day grace period, then the connection is removed. The domain itself always stays yours.
• Don't connect domains used for phishing, impersonation, or anything unlawful. We may disconnect a domain that is.

Account rules

• Don't scrape the service at volume or use it as an upstream data source for another product — abusive traffic may be throttled or blocked. GitHub's own API is the right tool for bulk data.
• Don't probe, spoof, or abuse the claim, billing, or domain endpoints.

Repo explanations

The plain-English repo explanations and tile teasers shown on pages come from explaingit, a BitVibe Labs sibling service, and are AI-generated. We don't guarantee their accuracy — read the actual repository before relying on them.

Liability

The service is provided as-is with no warranty. We aren't liable for how your page or its data is used by visitors, for inaccuracies in GitHub data or AI-generated explanations, for downtime, or for third-party services we depend on (GitHub, Cloudflare, Polar, Gumroad).

Termination

We may suspend claims or accounts that abuse the service. You can remove your page customization and delete your account at any time from the Account page — see the Privacy policy for exactly what each step removes.

Operator and governing law

gitmyhub is operated by BitVibe Labs, the trading name of an individual operator based in Greece. Payments are processed by the merchant of record named above. These terms are governed by Greek law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.

GitHub is a trademark of GitHub, Inc. gitmyhub is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub. Public data is shown via the GitHub API.

Changes

We'll update these terms when needed. Material changes will be reflected here with the "Updated" date above.
