This repository is a collection of study materials for the System Architect examination, which is a senior-level certification in China's national software qualification program (commonly called "ruankao"). The exam tests candidates on software and systems design at a professional level and is administered by a Chinese government body. Passing it is recognized as evidence of advanced software engineering competence in the Chinese IT industry.

The materials include past exam questions and their analyzed answers covering the exam's three sections: general knowledge (multiple choice), case analysis (written problem-solving), and essay writing. There are also mock practice papers, study guides, and links to video lecture courses. The collection has been maintained since 2018 and is updated after each exam sitting to include the latest real questions.

The repository notes that the exam moved to a computer-based format in 2023, replacing the previous paper-and-pencil test. The exam is now held twice a year, in May and November. The README contains a changelog going back to 2021 recording what materials were added or corrected after each exam cycle.

Some resources that were previously available for free are no longer included directly in the repository. The maintainer notes that certain materials have moved to a paid platform, partly in response to third parties redistributing the free content for profit. Materials contributed by members of a community study group remain free.
